I was dumb. I was naive. I did not know that death was a possibility. & When it came & took you away, I did not know what to say. Clearly, I have not done enough.
That week passed by in a flash, I took days to fully understand the situation. & Till today, I just took it as part of life & swallowed it down. Until I fell upon your picture today. The picture I took when you were still with us. But you were already weak then. I stroked your hair, I fed you hot milo through a straw. & When I saw that picture, my heart ached.
Instantly, as the image of you in that picture was in my head, it was quickly replaced by the one of you lying on that bed. You were already gone by then. I said "Good-bye" but I'm not sure if you heard me. The words would not come out, but the tears did. I wanted to see your lovely smile again. I wanted to hear you call my name. But those are desires which I'll never get. Cuz you're no longer here with us, physically. But we all know, you'll always stay. In our hearts, forever more ♥.
I wished I could turn back time. I would visit you more often, if that could take some of the pain now, away. But alas, it's impossible. & I shall always miss you. The way you smile, the way you laugh, the way you talk, the warmth of your boney hand, the texture of your soft smooth hair & the delicious popiah I used to eat since I was young.
I was glad I visited you that day. That soccer day. I hope you remembered. I hope you were happy.
